Pfc Elizarraraz is the son of Ignacio Elizarraraz [b.2/1/1891 in Mexico, came to US in 1911 and died 10/8/1974 in Los Angeles] a moulder at a brickyard and the son of Carlotta Avila Elizarraraz [b.11/4/1898 in Mexico, came to US in 1918 and died Feb 1991 in California].
The 1930 US Census for Belvedere, Los Angeles County, California shows Fidel residing at # 845 Cordova St with his parents and sisters Maria[b.1922 in Cal] and Estella [b.1/29/1928 in Cal] and brother Gilberto [b.1926 in Cal].
Pfc Elizarraraz enlisted in the Army on Feb 15, 1943 at Los Angeles, CA. His enlistment records states Fidel had completed 4 years of high- school was 5’8”, 156lbs and was single.
Pfc Elizarraraz was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Croix de Guerre Unit Citation [French], the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze Service Star and Arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button, Parachute Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge and the Presidential Distinguished Unit Emblem.
Pfc Elizarraraz is interred at an unknown cemetery in California.
