Pvt Bonnell was born 20 May 1923 in Michigan and died of his wounds on 15 June 1944 at Hill 30, during the air airborne invasion of Normandy.

Pvt Bonnell is the son of William Bonnell [b. 3/12/1891 in MI and died Dec. 1972] a farmer and the son of Lois I Bonnell [b. 5/20/1910 in MI and died Nov. 9, 1971] William served in WWI.

The 1930 US Census for Fremont, Saginaw County, Michigan shows Reinhold residing on a farm with his parents and sisters Adeline [b. 1921 n MI] and Helen [b.1925 in MI].He entered service on 10 February 1943.

Pvt Bonnell was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Croix de Guerre Unit Citation [French], the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze Service Star and Arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button, Parachute Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge and the Presidential Distinguished Unit Emblem.

Pvt Bonnell is interred at an unknown cemetery near Hemlock, MI.
