Pfc Ball (left). is the son of Glenn Ball [b.5-3-1898 in Ohio and died 6-19-59] a grain farmer and the son of Myrth Ball [b. 1988 in Ohio and died unknown].
The 1930 US Census for Prairie, Franklin County, Ohio shows Glenn residing at Cole Road with his parents and 4 Brothers, Allan [b1920 in Ohio] Eugene [b. 1924 in Ohio] John [b. 1926 in Ohio] and William [b. 1929 in Ohio].
Pfc Ball enlisted in the Army on Feb 19, 1943 at Columbus, Ohio. His enlistment record states that Glenn completed high school was married and was employed a a railroad section hand.
Pfc Ball was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the
Croix de Guerre Unit Citation [French].
Pfc Ball is interred at the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, France at Plot “’C’ Row ‘23’ Grave ‘17’. (pictured above right).
