The 1930 US Census for Montgomery, Franklin County, PA shows Alfred residing with his parents and 3 brothers, Orville, Elwood and Charles E and 6 sisters, Vera, Margaret, Anna, Betty, Francis and Mildred.

Pvt Koser enlisted on Jan 15, 1943 at Akron, Ohio. His enlistment records states Alfred had completed grammar school and was employed as a small craft operator.

Pvt Koser was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Croix de Guerre Unit Citation [French].

Pvt Koser is interred in Pennsylvania.
