The 1920 US Census for Buffalo, Erie County, PA shows Edward residing at # 362 N Oak St with his parents and 3 sisters, Mary [b. 1914 in Canada] Virginia [b. 1915 in Canada] and Shirley [b. 1918 in NY] and brother Robert [b. 1917 in NY].
Sgt Cannon enlisted in the Army on April 16, 1941 at Buffalo, NY . His enlistment records states Edward had completed grammar school and was single.
Sgt Cannon was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Croix de Guerre Unit Citation [French], the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze Service Star, World War II Victory Medal, WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button, Parachute Badge.
Sgt Cannon is interred at the Luxembourg American Cemetery. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg at Plot ‘E’ Row “9’ Grave ‘41’.
